Before moving to Maine in 2013, Nick Holes was born and raised on Long Island, New York. Nick graduated high school in 2001 and went on to college earning a business management degree from Five Towns College in 2005. Since he was about 16, he dreamed of becoming a body piercer. At the time, he thought it would be an awesome, fun profession. Today he realizes his passion is much more rewarding than he ever imagined.  

In February 2005, a few months before he graduated college, Nick received a great opportunity, a piercing apprenticeship. The rest, as they say, is history. Nick sees his work as doing a lot more than just piercing people. “There are many people out there who get piercings for purely aesthetic reasons. Then there are people who are doing it for a deeper meaning.” For nearly as long as he can remember, Nick felt that something was missing, and getting pierced or tattooed is a metaphysical catharsis akin to solving a psychological mystery, restoring something that he felt was missing.
