Piercing Prep and Healing

  • Most would say that a piercing is a moment of discomfort. It can feel a bit pinchy or sharp, but it is over very quickly. Relax, breathe, and it will be over before you know it.

  • No, we only pierce with single-use, sterilized piercing needles.

  • No, we only pierce with jewelry that we supply. We use surgical steel, titanium, solid gold, and glass body jewelry for initial piercing.

  • Taking care of your piercing is crucial to avoid infections and promote healing. Your piercer will review everything you need to know at the appointment, but if you need additional resources, you can visit the Piercing Aftercare page on our website. It provides detailed information on cleaning instructions, recommended cleaning products, special considerations, and what to avoid.

Remember to follow the instructions carefully and avoid touching your piercing with dirty hands. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us.

  • We recommend avoiding swimming for the first 2 months after getting pierced due to the presence of bacteria in bodies of water. Be especially careful of lakes, ponds, and hot tubs.

  • Each person and piercing will heal at a different rate. Generally, we say 2-6 months before you can change most piercings. A healed piercing will no longer be red/pink, swollen, sore, or producing a discharge.

If you are unsure if your piercing is healed enough to change, please get in touch with us so we can help.

  • Downsizing is switching to a shorter piece of jewelry after the initial swelling has subsided. We often recommend doing this 3-6 weeks after the initial piercing to aid in the healing.

With the piercing being so fresh, make sure to come in to have this done, so you do not risk infection or losing the piercing.
