Rebeka Chase

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little more about me. I’ve been an artist since I could hold something that would make a mark. By trade I am a tattoo artist of 23 years, by business I am the co-founder and sole owner of Brass & Briar Studios in downtown Portland, Maine. I have also been lucky enough to be tattoo mentor for the last 10 years.

As most “gifted” children I did go to art school…and studied fashion, illustration, and graphic design, but tattooing was always my main goal, with my first apprenticeship in 2003. Since then I’ve grown to focus mainly on composition and how the work compliments and ages with the body. With my experience in the field, I now find myself working mostly in large scale, with coverups and reworks at the top of my requests. I work closely with my clients to achieve both artistic and esthetic goals, achieving flow and contrast alongside longevity and readability. I am a New Englander by birth, living the last 10 years of my life with my husband and two dogs Janet and Cheddar in and around beautiful Portland, Maine. When I’m not creating art, traveling, or tattooing, I enjoy walking in the woods, playing the Sims, and spending hours in unique restaurants anywhere I can take a break. Come May of this year I will be moving myself and pups to Boulder Creek, CA to join my husband who moved for an industry job almost two years ago. I don’t currently have a location in California yet but do check me out at various conventions around the country this year.
