Braxton Turner
Braxton is Brass and Briar's apprentice, learning under the guidance of Rebeka. He has lived and worked in Portland since moving here from up the coast in 2017, but is a born-and-raised Mainer for his whole life. Before beginning his apprenticeship in 2024, Braxton was a screen printer and local artist.
He first began as the desk person at Brass and Briar in September of 2023, and has grown in his love and dedication to the industry since then. He is passionate about working with people, and helping others feel more at home in their bodies.
Braxton takes a specific interest in working with the LGBTQ community and their allies, as a queer and trans artist himself, and prioritizes creating a safe and welcoming environment for his clients. He is very heavily inspired by vintage and gothic imagery, plants, and insects. His work is mostly illustrative black and grey, but he also works with color and in other styles. His particular illustrative style is defined by soft stippled shading, dynamic and clean linework, and moody subjects.
Braxton takes walk-ins on a case by case basis, but booking in advance is preferred.
